Local Government Navigator is a geographical information system application designed to show the jurisdictions and service relationships of cities and special districts for any area of the user's interest - from the regional to the parcel level - within Marin County. the application also links the maps of cities and districts with directory information on each local government agency and with assessor's parcel information.
To get started, select and area of interest by either:
- drawing a box around any part of the county using the mouse,
- or by entering a street address or an assessor's parcel number (APN) in the space provided at the bottom of the screen.
The screen should zoom in and show territory you selected. Cities and unincorporated communities will be shown first.
Click on box for fire service or sewer serve etc. at the lower left side of the4 screen to show different map layers for other services or serviced providers.
Click on "Directory" at the top of the screen to access text information on any agency shown on the screen.
Click on the Help button (? symbol) at the lower right corner of the screen for directions on how to use other useful features of this system.
